Alan Silvestri (b. March 26, 1950, New York City) is an American film composer of the 1980s and 1990s. He is known for his many collaborations by using director Robert Zemeckis, including his work in Forrest Gump, the Back to the Future movies, Cast Away, Romancing the Stone, and others.
